It is a JOURNEY

It's not all going to happen overnight...I started out the day with a green shake. The girls and a couple of their friends even tried it and seemed to like it. They had fun making green mustaches...it was cute.

Lunch for the girls was almond butter and honey sandwich on wheat, grapes and a string cheese. For me, it was a guacamole dip and chips, almonds and grapes.

Dinner was NOT healthy...frozen pizzas and donuts...(I had about 3 donuts). I know it wasn't a good choice, but we are on a journey...and part of the journey is making mistakes and moving on. There are going to be some bumps in the path.

I struggle with what to make for dinner. Brooklyn has become somewhat of a picky eater, and I can't be preparing 4 different dinners every night. And then to try and make it healthy and still edible...that's another bump in the road. We'll smooth it out eventually though...

Getting our kids to eat all things healthy is tough. I have six kids and believe you me, I refuse to fix 6 different meals at dinner, or any other time for that matter. I have a saying around my house, " You get what you get and you don't throw a fit". There is always someone who is unhappy.

I am also on a journey to get myself healthy and fit. I've been on this journey since January. Along the way I realized that I am doing my children a dis-service by not teaching them now, in their youth, to make good healthy choices.

So, in short, what I eat, is what my children are going to eat. So far, so good. I get a lot of belly aching sometimes, but they all try the food at least once. And that's all I ask.

I love this blog Angie!!!
